Karen’s family often question why the rooms in their house are swathed in varied and never ending color. So here’s the theory---bright friendly colors are good living companions. When put into a painting, they draw you in while they bolster your spirit. Herein lies the framework of each painting.
Acrylics are Karen’s favorite mode of obtaining color. Acrylic paints are the perfect way for the non-timid colorist to really get the rich, exuberant color onto the canvas. Karen’s current color explorations involve a limited palette approach with 3-5 tube colors, delving into the question of “how many different things can be said with just a few colors?”
Paintings are on gallery wrapped canvases, with an acrylic varnish finish, perfectly okay to hang sans frame; or framed. Whichever, it provides a work of art that is very easy to love and live with.
