ARTIST INFORMATION CONTACT INFORMATION

I had always contended, adamantly, that the relationship between the artist and the model is as intimate as that between the artist and a still life. That the artist is as removed from her subject as a doctor is from her patient. That during the course of the creative session, some mysterious chemistry happens which turns a breathing, warm body into nothing more than a still life, albeit, a magnificently sensuous still life, one which lures and dares to be captured on paper.

I was wrong.

My models leave a burning impression on me. Our intimate conversation haunts me. Their vulnerability, their humor, their humanity expose mine.

Margaret Dyer has been exhibiting her vibrant, sensual pastels since 1988, when upon entering her first international exhibition, she won Best in Show. After finding continued success in the fine arts, she left behind a 15 year career in graphic design to pursue what she felt was a less stressful and more meaningful lifestyle, that of creating works of lasting beauty.

Margaret has exhibited with the Pastel Society of America; the American Artists Professional League; the Degas Pastel Society; the Akron Society of Artists Grand Exhibition; the Southeastern Pastel Society; the Pastel Society of New Mexic o; the Northwest Pastel Society; the San Diego Art Institute National Exhibition; the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Show; the Fine Arts Museum of the South, Mobile, AL; The Florida National at the Florida State University; and the Appleton Museum, Ocala, FL.
