ARTIST INFORMATION CONTACT INFORMATION

Jim Willis creates contemporary wood sculpture using organic forms as a starting point. Much of his powerful three-dimensional work is totemic in design andtakes its inspiration from a variety of cultures.

His work has a marked effect on viewers. They often respond to the smooth surfaces by extending a hand to touch, or by close inspection of the intricate areas.

A sweep of beautifully grained wood is exhilarating to see and feel, and yet is familiar and comforting at the same time. Wood objects both connect us to our history and also have intrinsic aesthetic qualities that are matched by few other materials.

Jim works without assistants using premium grades of hardwood. All of his work is unique and there are no reproductions.
